On a route of about 170 kilometers, you will experience a journey through time and discover places that played a key role in the peace negotiations of the Thirty Years' War.
Your adventure on the Peace Route begins in the historic city of Münster, known for its beautiful old town and as one of the signing locations of the Westphalian Peace in 1648. Here you can visit the historic town hall, where the negotiations took place and Europe was reshaped.
From Münster, the path leads you through the picturesque landscape of the Münsterland, past wide fields, through tranquil forests, and along idyllic riverbanks. The route is characterized by the peaceful beauty of the region and invites reflection on the history and significance of peace.
You will continue cycling through charming villages and small towns, where you can experience the hospitality and culture of Westphalia. Along the way, there are numerous historical sights, including castles, fortresses, and old churches that testify to the rich history of the region.
