Spanning approximately 230 kilometers, the path leads from the Sauerland to the mouth of the Ruhr into the Rhine in Duisburg, along one of the region's most important rivers.

Your adventure begins in the idyllic town of Winterberg in the Hochsauerland. From here, you follow the course of the Ruhr through the green Ruhr Valley, past wide meadows, dense forests, and charming villages. This section of the cycle path is characterized by tranquility and natural beauty.

Further along, the path takes you into the heart of the Ruhr area, a region known for its industrial past and cultural wealth. You cycle through historic towns like Arnsberg, Hagen, and Witten, where you can experience the traces of the industrial revolution and the transformation of the region up close.
